About the course

This course can be taken as a singular course.

This course is developed to meet the needs of a project teams, including project managers, users, customers, developers, testers and other relevant stakeholders. Anyone involved in the development, review or management of project scope will benefit from this training.

Admission requirements

Applicants from Nordic countries: Generell studiekompetanse

International applicants: Higher Education Entrance Qualification and certified language requirements in English.

Objectives of the course

Students who have successfully completed the course should have achieved the following learning outcomes:

Knowledge and comprehension:

  • Understand the nature of teams
  • Understand the roles of teams and teammembers
  • Understand fundamental distinctions of leading a team compared to leading an organisation.

 Skills:

The course should prepare the student to:

  • Compose a well functional team
  • Lead different types of teams

Competence:

  • Clarify the background for teamcomposition, team role and mandate for team
  • Review leadership and decisionmaking in different types of teams

Lectures and seminars.

Literature will be announced in Fronter at the beginning of term or may be obtained by contacting the bookstore Bok & Barista (Alta) or Akademisk Kvarter (Tromsø).

Application deadline

Applicants from Nordic countries:

1st of June for the spring semester and 1st December for the autumn semester.

Applicants from outside the Nordic countries:

1st of October for the spring semester and 15th of April for the autumn semester.

Assessment

Four hour written exam at campus Tromsø.

 

The written assignment (Inkl a oral presentation) must be passed before students is eligible for the final examination.

There will be arranged a re-sit exam for this course.
