The head of department is the Director of Human Resources and Organisation, Odd Arne Paulsen.

The Department of Human Resources and Organisation is one of the seven departments that make up the Central Administration at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.

The Department of Human Resources and Organisation has an overarching role in the field of human resources and organisation, providing support to the university’s management, faculties and units within its administrative areas and areas of responsibility.

The Department of Human Resources and Organisation formulates UiT’s internal regulations within the HR field, and takes care of UiT’s payroll and HR policies, including initiatives for management and competence development.

The Department of Human Resources and Organisation is responsible for ensuring that UiT has a robust and flexible organisation at all times and that it’s adapted to meet the current strategic objectives.
