Centre Days Workshops - 23 September
The K.G. Jebsen Centre for the Law of the Sea will host two workshops Tuesday 23 September 2014. The objective of the workshops is to communicate ongoing and planned Research activities at the Centre.
The first workshop concerns one of the foci areas of the Centre; ensuring implementation and compliance with international legal norms. There are shortcomings on both implementation of these norms into national legislation and of their enforcement. The work shop shall facilitate for the up-coming research on different verification mechanisms in international law.
The theme of the second workshop is maritime delimitation, which is part of work package II of the Centre. When a coastal State fixes the outer limits of the continental shelf where it extends beyond 200 nautical miles it may also have to delimit continental shelf boundaries with adjacent or opposite coastal States. At the work shop the principles and practice regarding delimitation beyond 200 nautical miles will be investigated.
