Job description
I am a Professor in Arctic Marine Ecotoxicology. My research focuses on the biological effects of petroleum-related contaminants on Arctic marine species, with particular emphasis on sensitive life stages and critical life-cycle processes such as reproduction.
I am responsible and teach the master's-level course Fundamentals in Ecotoxicology (BIO-3020). I also serve as a member of the Faculty Board at the Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics (BFE) and on the board of the Aquaculture Research Station in Tromsø (Havbruksstasjonen i Tromsø).

Research interests
My research focuses on the biological effects of petroleum-related contaminants on Arctic marine species. In particular, I study the sensitivity of early life stages and how contaminant exposure affects critical life-cycle events such as reproduction and post-spawning condition. My work also includes studies of the baseline biology and life-cycle strategies of Arctic organisms, as well as the development of biological tools and indicators for monitoring the impacts of oil contamination in Arctic marine environments.
