Job description

Ingeborg Høvik teaches bachelor and master courses in history of art and one course in Indigenous studies. She also mentors students who research and write their master's or PhD thesis.

She is manager of the research collective Arctic Voices, which received 4.5 years of project funding from the Research Council of Norway in 2020. Together with Sigfrid Kjeldaas, she edited the double special issue 'Counter-stories from the Arctic Contact Zone' for Interventions: International Journal of Postcolonial Studies (2023, volume 25 issues 7&8). In 2024 she curated the exhibition Visualizing Arctic Voices for the Riddu Riđđu Festivála and edited the accompanying English and North Sámi catalogue (Olmmáivággi: Davvi Álbmogiid Guovddáš/Centre of Northern Peoples, translation to North Sámi by Per Asle Sara). Her most recent publication is a series of textbook articles co-authored with Irene Snarby and Per Asle Sara on Sámi art and duodji for high school education in Norway.
