Course coordinator of the research course “Scientific Writing and Publishing in Health Sciences” (HEL-8026) at the Faculty of Health Sciences. Connected to the research group Arctic Health Research at the Department of Community Medicine; involved in supervising/training PhD-students and developing a PhD-program in North-West Russia.

    Research interests

    Alexandra's research encompasses biomedical aspects on atherosclerosis development to public health focus with special emphasis on population-based studies for cardiovascular disease prevention. Recently, she has also been involved in projects related to maternal and child health. Since 2008, Alexandra’s research has focused on global health.

    Teaching

    To date, Alexandra has supervised 14 PhD-students who have successfully defended their doctoral theses. She has also supervised more than 15 BSc, MSc and master theses. Alexandra has extensive teaching and lecturing experience both nationally and internationally.
