Research interests

I am responsible for the chemical characterisation of bioactive secondary metabolites in Marbio.

The tools I use in the laboratory includes:

  • Mass spectrometry (MS), both quadropoles and high-resolution (HR) systems
  • Chromatography, including low pressure (Flash) as well as both HPLC and UHPLC

I use these tools to isolate and characterize bioactive secondary metabolites through the following workflows:

  • Extraction and prefractionation of biological material
  • Dereplication of bioactive extracts and fractions using UHPLC-HR-MS
  • Metabolic profiling and metabolomics
  • Mass guided fractionation using HPLC
