Magritt Brustad


Job description

Magritt Brustad is a professor in Nutritional Epidemiology and serves as the leader of the study programs for the Bachelor's in Nutrition and Master's in Clinical Nutrition at the Faculty of Health Sciences, UIT. She organizes and oversees the daily operations and ongoing development of these programs while representing them in relevant local (UIT) and national forums. In addition to supervising Ph.D. students, she engages with students at the Master's and Bachelor levels.

 

Her research focuses on nutritional epidemiology, primarily drawing from large population-based epidemiological studies such as the Norwegian Women and Cancer study, the SAMINOR study, and the European Investigation into Nutrition and Cancer (EPIC). Magritt has also initiated various thematic data collections and projects. Her primary area of interest lies in vitamin D and health, conducting research based on her own data collections and data from large population studies. Additionally, Magritt leads projects on oral health in collaboration with the Public Dental Service Competence Centre of Northern Norway, where she holds an adjunct appointment.

    Research interests
