Research interests

Aarekol wrote her doctoral dissertation on Kven Culture and memory studies. Being the Director at the Polar Museum since 2010, she has produced several exhibitions on polar history and research. Her research area includes museums, minority history, memory studies, gender, polar history and Arctic big game hunting.
