Job description
My research interests are quite diverse and include volcanology, petrology, mineralogy, geochemistry and analytical methods, materials technology, geohazards and drone technology.
I have a PhD in geology from the University of Bergen, and as part of my PhD I also stayed 2,5 years at the Nordic Volcanological Center in Iceland. The topic of my PhD thesis was “Holocene volcanic activity and hazards of Jan Mayen, North Atlantic” where I studied the eruptive record and reconstructed past eruptions on the volcanic island Jan Mayen to conduct a volcanic hazard assessment. I have been employed at HiN and UiT since 2014 and since 2016 my work has been mostly teaching and research based. Since then I have worked a lot with materials testing of concrete and aggregates used as construction materials.
