Job description

Research interests:

My interest lies in discovering new bioactive molecules for drug development, mainly from marine Actinobacteria. A crucial step in the discovery process is the identification of known or unknown molecules, which is largely dependent on HPLC-HR-MS2. In addition to anti-cancer and other pharmaceutically relevant bioactivities, antibacterial activity and MoA are areas of great interest to me. Identified compounds are then isolated and their structure is elucidated using NMR.

In brief:

HPLC/ liquid chromatography

Analytical and preparative chemistry

Mass spectrometry/ HR-MS/MS and ion mobility spectroscopy (IMS), metabolomics

NMR

Discovery of natural medicines (anti-cancer, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, etc.)

Investigation of the molecular mechanism of action of compounds

Bioactive peptides/nutraceuticals from marine raw materials
