Jonas Johansson

Job description

Senior Researcher employed at the Department of Community Medicine, UiT. Jonas main research focus is using epidemiological research data from the Tromsø Study to study ageing processes, muscle strength, physical function, and the impact of physical activity. He currently leads the scientific committee for the upcoming Tromsø8 data collection wave planned to take place in 2025-2026. He also works with the RCN-funded RESTART project, a randomized controlled trial which will investigate how a complex lifestyle intervention can improve and maintain the health status of older adults 60+. His background is in exercise physiology and he completed a PhD in Public Health in 2018.

Jonas is a member of the Epidemiology of chronic diseases research group and an associate member of the Sport, physical activity, and health research group
