Job description

Hi! I am a PhD fellow in the Space Physics group at UiT, and I study cosmic dust in Earth's upper atmosphere with the EISCAT VHF radar.

Right now I focus on characterizing meteor events, which are created when dust particles ablate on their way through the atmosphere. This work combines radar theory and machine learning to understand the physical processes at work during atmospheric entry.

Later in the project I plan to turn to the icy dust layers that form in the same region, connecting the dust influx to their formation and to long-term change in the atmosphere.

Research interests: radar theory; plasma physics; atmospheric physics; data analysis; machine learning; meteors;
