Vasili Alexander Balios
Job description
I specialize in applied genetic engineering and AI-driven plant analytics. My current research focuses on genetic transformation of Cuscuta (dodder) to uncover the mechanisms of its interaction with host plants. In parallel, I use hyperspectral imaging and machine-learning models to classify species from spectral signatures and identify the key features that drive accurate identification, informing crop protection, phenotyping, and diagnostics.
