Job description
I am associate professor in machine learning at the UiT Machine Learning Group.
I am principal investigator at the Centre for Research-based Innovation SFI Visual Intelligence in the research challenge Context & Dependencies in which we aim to develop deep learning models which can incorporate context and prior domain knowledge to constrain solutions and aid model training in limited data setting. Such knowledge may stem from the topology or geometry of objects, or physics model that govern the dynamics associated with the data.
I am also principal investigator at the Centre of Excellence for Knowledge-driven Machine Learning SFF Integreat in the research theme Structure & Logic, in which we develop new methods to intertwine machine learning with logical inference on deterministic and probabilistic knowledge in logical form.
I am particularly interested in biomedical applications, ranging from microscopy and spatial biology, to medical imaging applications such as dynamic PET, mammography and echocardiography.
