Job description
My research focuses on the dynamic description of geophysical flows, with a particular emphasis on ocean water and sea ice. I aim to develop innovative approaches to better understand the dynamic organization of these complex systems. I am interested in the definition, identification and measure of connectivity between coherent structures like transport barriers, eddies, gyres and currents in the ocean, and leads (stretching), ridges (compressing), and other coherent motions in the sea ice. By bridging the fields of applied mathematics, mechanics, and climate dynamics, I’m learning techniques that can give objective descriptions of the underlying flows, and therefore, give fair comparisons between different data sets.
