Debattmøte om Gazas framtid / Debate Meeting about the Future of Gaza
NORWEGIAN: Når krigen i Gaza er over vil det være et behov for å etablere eller en eller annen form for politisk eller administrativt styre for denne delen av Palestina. Hvem skal ta ansvar for å styre Gaza?
ENGLISH: When the war in Gaza is over, there will be a need to establish some form of political or administrative governance for this part of Palestine. Who should take responsibility for governing Gaza?
NORWEGIAN:
Internasjonalt Seminar er et informasjons- og debattforum i Tromsø, som gjennom foredrag og paneldiskusjoner tar opp nord/sør-problematikk, miljø/klima, fattigdom/utvikling og krig/fred som sentrale tema.
Torsdag 19. september kl. 19.00-21.00, på Tromsø bibliotek, holdes det et nytt møte i Internasjonalt Seminar.
Rundt 41.000 palestinere er nå døde, titusener trenger helsehjelp og matforsyninger og halvparten av alle bygg i Gaza er ødelagt, etter Israels invasjon for 11 måneder siden.
På dette møtet i Internasjonalt seminar er tema hva som vil skje med Gaza etter krigen er over, og om det er mulig å gjenopprette politisk eller administrativt styre av denne delen av Palestina.

Abdalhadi Alijla – Postdoktor ved Orient Institute in Beirut (OIB), sosiolog og forfatter av boka Trust in Divided Societies (2020). I 2021 ble han tildelt International Political Science Association Global South Award.
Alijla er medleder for Global Migration and Human Rights ved Global Young Academy og en av grunnleggerne av Palestine Young Academy i 2020. Han er også forsker og regional leder for Varieties of Democracy Institute (Göteborgs Universitet), for Gulf-landene.

Internasjonalt seminar har et program med 25-30 åpne møter i året.
Seminaret støttes av Tromsø kommune og koordineres av FN-sambandet Nord og Seksjon for internasjonalt samarbeid (SIS) ved UiT Norges arktiske universitet.
I tillegg støttes seminaret av Tromsøs humanitære organisasjoner, solidaritets- organisasjoner og studentorganisasjoner.

The International Seminar is a forum for political debate in Tromsø, that addresses issues of the North/South divide, environment/climate, poverty/development, and war/peace as central themes through lectures and panel discussions.
On Thursday, 19 September, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Tromsø Library, a new meeting of the International Seminar will be held.
Around 41,000 Palestinians are now dead, tens of thousands need medical help and food supplies, and half of all buildings in Gaza are destroyed, following Israel's invasion 11 months ago.
At this meeting in the International Seminar, the main topic will be what will happen to Gaza after the war is over, and whether it is possible to restore political or administrative governance of this part of Palestine.

• Abdalhadi Alijla – Postdoctoral researcher at the Orient Institute in Beirut (OIB), sociologist and author of the book "Trust in Divided Societies" (2020). In 2021 he was awarded the International Political Science Association Global South Award.
Alijla is the Co-Leader of Global Migration and Human Rights at Global Young Academy and a co-founder of Palestine Young Academy in 2020. He is also an Associate Researcher and the Regional Manager of Varieties of Democracy Institute (Gothenburg University) for Gulf countries.

• Bahaa Eleyan is a Palestinian activist and coordinator for several cultural projects.
The seminar will be held in English.
The International Seminar has a program with 25-30 open meetings per year.
The Seminar is supported by the Tromsø municipality and is coordinated by the UN Association North and the Section for International Cooperation (SIS) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
In addition, the seminar is supported by Tromsø's humanitarian organizations, solidarity organizations, and student organizations.
