Marion Sophie Prieler
Job description
Marion is a PhD fellow in the SEDNA project (Assessing Seasonality in Pelagic Diversity and Carbon Export within the Central Arctic Ocean), which is part of the upcoming first trans-Arctic drift expedition of the Tara Polar Station. Here research uses multi-omics approaches to investigate seasonal functional adaptation and community turnover in Central Arctic Ocean ecosystems, and how these dynamics are influenced by climate change and increasing Atlantification.
Research interests
Marion's research interests lie at the interface of marine ecology and molecular biology, using multi-omics approaches to investigate biodiversity, functional adaptation, and trophic interactions in vulnerable marine ecosystems, from tropical coral reefs to the Central Arctic Ocean. Her research aims to generate knowledge relevant for conservation planning and science–policy decision-making in rapidly changing marine systems.
