Looking back on my time in Alta, I still cannot believe how much has happened. I am incredibly grateful for the experiences, friendships, and memories I gained during my stay.

I spent two semesters in Alta, mainly studying Friluftsliv, which shaped much of my time there. Whether it was hiking, canoeeing, or skiing during the winter, we spent almost as much time outdoors as we did in the classroom, making learning both practical and unforgettable.

At first, I was unsure about living in a relatively small town like Alta, but my doubts quickly disappeared. Everything I needed was close by, and the stunning natural surroundings made daily life truly special. The local saying, “Next to nothing, close to everything,” perfectly captures the experience.

Above all, it was the people who made my stay so meaningful. The university gave us a warm welcome, and my classmates became friends in what felt like the blink of an eye.
