Testing Stage 3

The last, 3rd stage of testing was carried out with modifications suggested in 2nd stage.

Test elements were designed according to the results from 2nd stage, where was given amount for fibers for requested f R, 3k . In order to make an exact case study, one of the elements which was scheduled for production was redesigned for steel and basalt fibers. Thanks to such an approach, parameters such as element weight, load capacity and reinforcement weight can be identified. The approach in the 3rd stage was so-called “reversed engineering”, individual samples were cut from an element with fiber reinforcement which corresponded to the structural design of the element with traditional reinforcement.
Additionally, pipes and other installations which are common in precast wall elements were integrated in order to see how the fiber concrete will fill all the areas around pipes and installation boxes. Samples for testing were cut from areas with installations to have a brief idea about fiber orientation and also from areas without installations.
