Ana Filipič

I’m Ana, I come from Slovenia and I spent 4 months in Tromsø from August to November, which means I got to experience seasons from summer to winter. I was a medical student on an Erasmus+ clinical internship at UNN and I was satisfied with the professional part of my exchange.

But most of all, Tromsø and its beautiful surroundings made my exchange absolutely wonderful. The magical northern lights that you can see literally on your doorstep, the sunrises and sunsets which last for hours and make your days colourful (while they last once winter is coming), not to mention the mountains and ocean combination, which becomes even more surreal once snow comes.

I would recommend Tromsø to all who appreciate nature and its beauty and also to the ones who like to stay active as opportunities for different activities to move your body are endless.

Moreover, the amount of people I’ve met from all over the world is incredible. The opportunity to share different life experiences from various places in the world was great to broaden my horizons. The acitivties for exchange students in Tromsø are endless and there was always something educational, fun or social happening. I also enjoyed the cozy cafe vibe and would highly recommed having a coffee and a cinnamon bun or a similar cake to enjoy while chatting with your new friends or just reading a book.

Tromsø was a truly magical experience for me to end my student years that I will never ever forget. I will remember it by being full of magic and colours, which were created by the colourful Norwegian houses, the northern lights, the sunrises and the sunsets along with the arctic nature which all together made me feel like I was living in an arctic fairytale.
