Populærvitenskapelig sammendrag av avhandlingen:
Clinical trials are the gold standard for proving medical treatments are safe, but they are often slow and costly. This dissertation identifies key factors project managers must prioritize to run successful, cost-efficient trials across all medical fields.
The research used two main methods: a comprehensive review of clinical research literature and regulations, and three structured surveys of oncologists, surgeons, nurses, and research professionals at U.S. hospitals and pharmaceutical companies. By combining existing knowledge with these real-world survey insights, the study demonstrates how to better use technology and management techniques to reduce delays and expenses without compromising quality. Ultimately, this work provides a roadmap to bridge the gap between laboratory discovery and patient care, ensuring that life-saving therapies reach those in need more quickly and effectively.
