Professor of sociology, with particular emphasis on involvement of child and adolescents in public services, development of public services, and patient safety. Editor of the website Involvert.no: a resource on user involvement for those who work with children and young people. Project leader for the research projects INVOLVED, UngKven - Nuorikvääni, KASUTA: Growing up and Relæxt theatre.
Researcher in the projects InvolveMENT (UiS), Room for user involvement (KBT) and CiYouthNor: Collaboration to promote social inclusion for youth with complex psychosocial needs (NORCE, Bergen).

Research interests
Anita Salamonsens ongoing research mainly examines user involvement in practice in public services involving children and their families, further development of mental health services for children and youth, and development of culture sensitive public services for children and youth from different minority groups in Norway.
