Siril Alm
Job description
I started as an associate professor at the School of Business and economics, UiT The Artic University of Norway in March 2022. I have previously been employed as a researcher at the food research institute Nofima at the department of market research. I also have work experience from the Norwegian Seafood Council, Lerøy Aurora and Hurtigruten.
I completed my doctoral thesis in 2015 at UiT with the title "Exploring social influences on children's food attitudes and consumption". My research areas are consumer behavior related to food; especially children's food consumption, meals in kindergartens and schools, food waste, and consumer preferences of seafood. In recent times, I have become more concerned with how to motivate consumers to throw away less food. I mainly use qualitative research methods such as interviews, focus groups often using photography. I use NVivo as an analysis tool.
At the Norwegian School of Management, I am, among other things, responsible for subjects in research methods at bachelor -and master level.
