Job description

As a PhD student at the Faculty of Health Sciences and a member of the Thrombosis Research Group (TREC), my research focuses on the role of small RNA molecules known as microRNAs in the diagnosis of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and the prediction of future VTE risk. The overall aim is to contribute to improved prevention of VTE.

    Research interests

    • Investigating the role of microRNAs (miRNAs), particularly miR-145, in the pathogenesis of venous thromboembolism (VTE).
    • Evaluating current diagnostic biomarkers and identifying novel biomarkers to improve the diagnosis of VTE.
    • Advancing the understanding of cancer-associated thrombosis to improve VTE risk assessment in patients with cancer.
