Job description

Khadij Gharibi is currently working as a Project Manager at the Faculty of Life Sciences, Fisheries and Economics, where she is  helping with the preparation of an EU funding application. Prior to this role, she worked as an EU Grant Adviser in the Section for Research and Innovation (SeFI). Before joining SeFI, she held a Researcher position funded by the Aurora Outstanding award for her project Bridging the Gap Between MSCA and ERC.

Khadij completed a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship with the project CLICK, which examined cross-linguistic influence of societal languages ​​on the same heritage language—Persian—in heritage speakers across different European countries. Earlier in her career, she was a Newton International Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Essex, where she led a British Academy-funded project on the role of attrited input in heritage language development.

She earned her PhD in Applied Linguistics from Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, supported by a fully funded Doctoral Scholarship. Combining psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic approaches, her research focuses on the acquisition, attrition, and maintenance of heritage languages, particularly in bilingual contexts.
