Hello there, and welcome to my space of evolving governance and co-existence!
I am writing an article-based Ph.D. on the evolution and governability of fisheries and aquaculture in the Norwegian Blue Economy. What does this imply, you might ask. Well, in short, I study processes of change in how governance of aquaculture and fisheries adapts to the visions of the Blue Economy. This is a widespread policy paradigm that sees our marine and coastal areas as spaces of opportunity for sustainable development. However, marine and coastal areas are already under pressure from existing economic activities; thus, how does added activity affect the ways we govern these wet environments?
More specifically, my cases relate to the following areas of inquiry:
1. How technological innovation in salmon aquaculture challenges established governance arrangements
2. How fishers relate to changes in the governing of their industry
3. How conservation is considered from the perspective of aquaculture and fisheries
