Research interests
As an archaeogeneticist, I aim to be a bridge between archaeological findings and biomolecular data. My objective is to create a comprehensive understanding of past communities by analyzing genomic data from human populations and comparing it with other forms of evidence. Through a population-based approach, I not only uncover the genetic makeup of individuals but also gain insights into the collective identity of communities and populations. This methodology allows for a contextual interpretation of the results, whether on a local, regional, or even macro-regional scale.
Recently, I have also developed a particular interest in sampling strategies, and how they need to be re-examined to meet the challenges of interdisciplinary projects while ensuring the conservation and preservation of precious and limited resources (e.g. skeletal remains).
