Incoming exchange students: changes to your education plan after arrival (Exceptional Cases)
Note: As an incoming exchange student, you are only permitted to enrol in the courses you have been officially admitted to. Any changes to your approved course selection must be authorised by both the academic department/school at UiT offering the courses and your home university/college.
📅 Deadlines for applying for changes
- 1 February – for the spring semester (January - June).
- 1 September – for the autumn semester (August - December).
✅ When can you make changes?
You may request changes to your Learning Agreement if:
- There is a timetable conflict between approved courses.
- A previously approved course is no longer offered by the department/school at UiT.
- A course is not recognised or approved by your home institution.
- A course is taught in a different language than stated in the Course Catalogue.
- You are extending your mobility period (maximum of two semesters allowed).

Get approval from UiT
Send your request to: mobility@uit.no -
UiT registers the new course in the Student Web
Log in to the Studentweb to register for classes and exam. -
Inform your home university about the changes in your education plan
Ensure the new course is approved by your home institution. -
