Practices of Consultation with Indigenous Peoples in Indigenous / Latin America

The seminar focused on how consultation processes are carried out, or not, in different countries in Indigenous / Latin America; how consultations can become events that lead to mutual understanding and binding agreements; why consultations by one or more parties end up being considered as theater only; what the main challenges of consultation processes today are; and what successful consultations look like. These topics and questions are highly relevant as well as beyond Indigenous / Latin America as they strongly resonate in Sami / Nordic contexts.

Joik som påkallelse - Noen personlige og språkfilosofiske betraktninger ved Nils Oskal.

Nils Oskal sier følgende om foredraget: 
Med utgangspunkt i opptak av joik, diskuterer jeg i presentasjonen ulike etiske og eksistensielle sider ved joiking. Spørsmål om selvgransking og oppriktighet (autensitet), forbudet mot å joike seg selv, joik som synd i religiøs forstand og joiking av personer som utforming av krav om relasjoner og joik som forsøk på å lokke frem og artikulere sider ved omverdenen, blir tatt opp. I forskjellige kontekster for joiking aktiviseres ulike mulighetsdannende og begrensende vilkår for samhandling. Videre bruker jeg opptakene som eksempler og et utgangspunkt for å reflektere over regulerende og dannende regler for denne typen bruk av språk. 

Nils Oskal er professor II ved Institutt for filosofi og førstesemesterstudier ved UiT,  professor ved Samisk høgskole, og medlem av forskergruppen INREL.
