Thematic focus
Members of the research group are working on various topics related to professional practice and challenges for the welfare society. The activities coordinated by ProVel have a particular focus on two research topics:
- Challenges for the welfare society caused by the current demographic change, and the possibilities for meeting this challenge by a more efficient skill mix and the utilization of inter- and multi-disciplinary resources in the transition between social and health services. Activities of ProVel related to this topic will focus on building sustainable networks with national and international partners with the aim of developing competitive applications to the Research Council of Norways (NRC) budget commitment Flere aktive og sunne år, and EU Horizon 2020 pillar Societal Challenges in extension of the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing.
- Need for social work expertise in different welfare services, particularly in the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Administration (NAV), child welfare and care services. In this respect, ProVels activities are coordinated with UiTs and IBSAs commitment to the development of University-NAV on a local, regionally and national level.
We in ProVel are always open for discussing project ideas related to these research topics with other researchers!
ProVel aims to become an inclusive forum for staff members and master students with an interest in the group's thematic priorities. At the same time, membership involves a commitment. Members of our research group are expected to be active researchers and to support each other in publishing as well as writing of research proposals, either individually or, preferably, as part of a national or international network.
