Research interests
I am a professor of drama/theatre with a PhD from NTNU, hold a master’s degree from the University of Oslo, am trained as a drama educator from OsloMet, and have a teacher education from the University of Stavanger. I have conducted research since 1998, defended my PhD in 2004, became a professor in 2011, and have led numerous projects. What characterizes these projects is that they are all designed within a participatory research paradigm and focus on equality, aesthetics, and societal participation. Topics of particular interest to me include: applied theatre, arts & health, disability art, inclusive research, pragmatic aesthetics, poetry and theatre as research dissemination, drama pedagogy, education policy, everyday consequences of Covid, performance ethnography, Arctic humanities, dementia, the CRPD, and community science.
My research is connected to the Arctic Centre for Welfare and Disability Research: https://uit.no/research/asvf
and the group Artful Dementia Research Lab: https://uit.no/research/adlab
