Job description

As Head of Department, I have the following key tasks:
* Management of academic, strategic and administrative activities at the department, including responsibility for results, personnel and financial outcomes. 
* Special focus on external funding of research and educational activities
* Ensuring quality and a good balance between education, research, dissemination and innovation
* Contribute to creating a positive organizational culture and stimulating a productive working environment for employees and students
* Ensuring a good learning environment and active recruitment of new students
* Leading participatory processes
* Representing the department and promoting internal and external collaboration
* Ensuring that the department follows good HR routines and has good personnel follow-ups
* Ensuring good technical and administrative support
* Ensuring that internal control and financial management are carried out in accordance with regulations and routines

I am a professor of Industrial Engineering with a focus on sustainable management of supply chains. My collaboration with academic, research and industrial partners has reinforced my belief that technological advances are our greatest asset in addressing both current and future challenges. Accordingly, my research is dedicated to identifying these challenges and developing integrated system solutions that are facilitated by technological progress.

I am also an appointed chair of Arctic Six, with a particular focus on environmental preparedness and rapid mobilization. Through the work in this position, I aim to demonstrate how simulation and optimization technologies can help strengthen the resilience of Arctic communities and infrastructures.
