Hanne Hammer Stien
Job description
Hanne Hammer Stien is Professor of Art History at Academy of Arts. Her research interests are museology and curatorial practice, the history and theory of photography, and contemporary art and art theory. One of Stien's recent publication is Kunst som deling. Delingens kunst (Fagbokforlaget, 2020), co-authored with Merete Jonvik, Eivind Røssaak, and Arnhild Sunnanå. The book focuses on changing practices within the contemporary art field in Norway the last decade. Stien has also practiced as an art critic and curated several exhibitions and art projects in public spaces. She is a member of the artistic advisory board of the new government quarter in Oslo, member of the editorial board of Metode, member of the board of Mađđi - Romsa kunsthall and the board of research and development at the Arts Council Norway, and a member of the research group Worlding Northern Art (WONA) at UiT. Stien is also part of the research project Urban Transformation in a Warming Arctic (URBTRANS), led by Tone Huse, UiT, and Arctic Routes, Southern Ways, led by Luísa Santos, Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisboa.
