Job description

Blog: fjellifarta

I am an engineering geologist with an interest in landslides and avalanches. My research focuses on the process and mechanics behind natural hazard events with a goal to improving hazard understanding and lowering risk. Much of my research focuses on mapping and monitoring large mountain landslides. A selection of roles in external research projects include: task leader in Impetus (an EU Green Deal project to increase resilience to climate change in different regions around Europe), progression domain leader of the GEOMME project (international partnership for Climate-induced geohazard mitigation, management, and education).

My teaching portfolio includes the national geohazards course for bachelor students (GEO-2012), and rock slope failure for masters students (GEO-3135). Additionaly I have helped to establish and maintain courses in geotechnics and snow avalanches.

Research interests

Engineering geology, rock slope failure, rock slope deformation, geohazards, mass movements, landslides, avalanches, mass movements, structural geology, natural hazards, climate change, adapatation, policy, hazard and risk
