Fasil Ejigu Eregno
Job description
Fasil Ejigu Eregno is an Associate Professor of Water and Environmental Engineering at the Department of Building, Energy and Material Technology, Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology, UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Narvik. He earned his PhD in Water and Environmental Engineering from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), where his doctoral research focused on health risk assessment and water quality modelling, examining risks associated with drinking, recreational, and recycled water systems.
At UiT, he has played a key role in establishing the new master's program in Water and Wastewater Technology. He teaches in the programme, supervises MSc and PhD students, manages environmental laboratory activities, and coordinates and contributes to national and international collaborative research projects with academic and industry partners.
His research interests include water and wastewater treatment technologies (including on-site systems), water safety in supply systems, water quality analysis and modelling, hydrodynamic and hydrological modelling, and health risk assessment and management in water and wastewater systems. He has published on these topics in leading scientific journals.
