Research interests
I hold a Ph.D. in Social Anthropology, and in that work I focussed on the changing value/s of food and food management in households in Northern Norway. I also have extensive experience from curatorial and international project management work in the cultural sector.
My main research interests stem from economic and environmental anthropology in Northern Societies, and span from informal and moral economies, to narrative traditions, epistemology, animism and value/values in managing both human and non-human relations and resources.
I am part of research projects like “Arctic Heritage”, researching Sámi traditions and perspectives on nature amongst reindeer herders in Finnmark, and in the "Sharing our Knowledge" project, I investigate Sámi narratives as institutions for managing natural resources in Deatnu waterways.
Additionally, I work on the project “Sustainable Species in the North”: Collaborating with two Sámi artists to produce an audio-visual art-work as a critical, creative commentary on the topic.
