R course for beginners

Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the R course for beginners. The course will consist of lessons covering everything you need to know to use R on your own. We will avoid the theoretical part of R as much as possible and focus mainly on the practical aspects.

When: 20-27 February 2023 (Monday-Wednesday, Friday, and Monday (27th), from 11:30-16:00)

Learning Objectives:

Day 1: How to install R and RStudio, and perform R basics tasks (Where: Auditorium 5, UiT, Tromsø)

Day 2 & 3: How to install packages, import them, manipulate the data (dplyr, tidyR, and other packages), and do basic statistics (Where: Auditorium 5, UiT, Tromsø)

Day 4: How to visualize the data (ggplot package) (Where: Auditorium 8, UiT, Tromsø)

Day 5: Summarize and do a short quiz (Where: Auditorium 5, UiT, Tromsø)

To whom: HMI, PedInf, CANS members, and other groups. The course is limited to 30 people. First come, first served.

Prerequisites:

- You do not need any experience in R

- Bring your laptop (with Windows, macOS, or Linux Operating System)
