Åpent foredrag: Body image disturbances and eating disorders

Hva vet vi om kroppsbilde, kroppsbildevansker og spiseforstyrrelser? Hva nytt har vi lært de siste årene? Velkommen til spennende foredrag med gjesteforeleser Katri K. Cornelissen!

Foredraget vil handle om kroppsbildeforstyrrelser, hvordan de utvikles, opprettholdes og koblingen til utvikling av spiseforstyrrelser. Nye forskningsfunn om det kompliserte forholdet mellom tilfredshet, idealer og persepsjon av egen kropp presenteres. Foredraget er på engelsk.

The talk will centre around body image distortion in eating disorders, how they are developed and maintained and linked to models of eating disorder development and maintenance. New findings on the complicated interaction between satisfaction, ideals and perception will be presented.

Katri K. Cornelissen is senior lecturer and Director of Transnational Education at the Psychology Department, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, Northumbria University. Her most recent research is in body image, body image distortion and eating disorders as well as stimulus development for investigation of perceptual component of body image distortion. She has done prior clinical work in acute and chronic brain injuries and eating disorders, along with prior research in neuromagnetic correlates of rehabilitation and language, specifically naming and anomia treatment. Currently she is involved in the project “Viewing your body from the inside and out” https://site.uit.no/kvinnehelse/.
