Natasa Skalko-Basnet

Job description

I am the Head of Drug Transport and Delivery Research Group, but I am foremost  a pharmacist, professor in Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics. I completed my Pharmacy education at University of Zagreb, Croatia and received PhD in Drug Delivery from University College of London, U.K. My main research interests are within drug delivery, with focus on localized drug therapy utilizing liposomes as carriers for drug/active molecule. By assuring high drug concentration at the target site we hope to significantly improve the efficacy of drug therapy while reducing unwanted effects. In brief, drug formulation matters!

My second passion is teaching and I am responsible for the following courses in Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics at Master and PhD level:

FAR 3041 Advanced Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics

FAR 8043 Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine (PhD course)
