9th Annual HEDG Mini-Workshop for Young Scholars/ 2nd Human Capital of the Nordic Countries Workshop
The 9th Annual HEDG Mini-Workshop for Young Scholars took place on August 29th and 30th, 2024, at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense. Hosted by the Department of Economics, the Historical Economics and Development Group (HEDG), and the Human Capital in the Nordic Countries project at SDU, this event was designed as a mini-workshop for young scholars and held in conjunction with the 2nd Human Capital in the Nordic Countries workshop.
The workshop brought together presenters from a diverse array of institutions, including the University of Warwick, London School of Economics/CREi, University of Dortmund, University of Oslo, University of Southern Denmark, Northwestern University/University of Bristol, University of Lund, and University of Tromsø.
Throughout the event, participants engaged in a series of presentations and discussions, with recurring themes focusing on education and employment. Topics explored included the impact of educational reforms, the role of technical change in shaping inequality, and the historical and contemporary factors influencing employment opportunities.
