Participation in the EUGLOH Workshop “Crafting My PhD Journey” – Munich, October 2025
Rekik Derso, a PhD student from the Ar2CorD Project participated in the EUGLOH (European University Alliance for Global Health) workshop “Crafting My PhD Journey”, held in Munich, Germany, from October 13 to 17, 2025.
Crafting My PhD Journey workshop organized by the GraduateCenterLMU at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich, brought together 28 doctoral candidates from 9 European universities. The program was designed to help participants explore their academic and professional pathways, enhance transferable skills, reflect on their research journeys, and build cross-disciplinary networks within the EUGLOH community.
Throughout the week, the workshop featured a variety of lectures and discussions such as navigating the PhD journey, academic self-reflection, effective supervision and mentoring, career development within and beyond academia, interdisciplinary collaboration, and science communication for global impact. Participants also engaged in small-group projects and peer-exchange activities, creating a supportive and inspiring learning environment.

In addition to the academic program, participants enjoyed a guided city tour of Munich, exploring the city’s rich history, architecture, and cultural landmarks, including tour to the White Rose Museum at LMU, which commemorates the student-led resistance movement against the Nazi regime. The tour provided a relaxed setting for networking and cultural exchange among participants.

The workshop concluded with a group photograph, capturing the shared spirit of learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange that defined the week.
