NOIRE-Net: A new study from A. Kvammen et al. (2024)

Using deep convolutional neural networks to classify and scale ionograms at high latitudes

A. Kvammen and co-authors published a study in which deep convolutional networks are used to authomatically scale and classify oblique ionograms obtained from a receiver situated in Skibotn, Norway. The networks successfully classifies the presence of E- and/or F-region traces,  their virtual distances as well as the maximum plasma frequencies in an automated way.
