How it works

- admitted students pause their original studies for two semesters to work on a special research project full-time
- research is supervised by a faculty member at Institutt for psykologi at UiT
- students also take PhD courses at Helsefak
- 100 000 NOK personal stipend for this “FL-year”
- 70 000 NOK driftsmidler & reisestipend
- entitled to “sommerstipend” for working in the summer
- at the end of the FL-year, students pass an exam, and continue with their studies
- after this, students can continue working on the research project for half-stipends
- there is a final FL-exam at the end of the profesjon/master studies
- students receive a special diploma (“Psykolog med forskerlinje or Master i psykologi med forskerlinje”)
- graduated students can apply for a special “fast-track” PhD at IPS
- students complete all educational requirements for a PhD so are competitive for other positions
