RiverPulse – Reconfiguring human–nature interactions as an assemblage at the Arctic frontline of climate change
RiverPulse examines how climate change reconfigures human–nature relations. Through empirical research on the Reisa, Väylä/Tornio and Kapisillit Rivers in Norway, Finland, Sweden and Greenland, RiverPulse advances assemblage thinking into an empirically robust framework to study climate change as a crisis of relations and salmon as bioindicator, cultural anchor and economic resource. It examines how salmon rivers become key sites for struggles over knowledges, loss, and responsibility, and provides an innovative path for interdisciplinary climate research that is locally grounded yet globally relevant.
