From 8 to 19 June 2026, at-sea participants of Tara Polaris I, the first of ten planned transpolar drift expeditions in the next 20 years, met onboard the Tara Polar Station to finalise the protocols and log sheets. They also received hands-on training from the Principal Investigators to optimise sampling activities and ensure that all operations can be completed as planned while drifting in the remote Central Arctic Ocean with limited support.
