Assess Seasonality in Pelagic Diversity and Carbon Export within the Central Arctic Ocean

Elise has experience working on marine ecosystem structure and spatial connectivity using modelling approaches. Her previous research focused on the development of ecosystem and connectivity models to assess biodiversity patterns, trophic interactions, and the resilience of coral reef ecosystems. She has worked with international research teams and has experience processing ecological datasets, running simulation models, and evaluating ecosystem responses to environmental change. In SEDNA, she is responsible for developing an Ecopath with Ecosim model of the Central Arctic Ocean, integrating data generated from the Tara Polar Station to investigate trophic structure, seasonal dynamics, and ecosystem sensitivity to environmental change. She is motivated by the opportunity to collaborate within an international research team to improve understanding of how Arctic ecosystems function and how they are being transformed by climate change. She aims to provide science-based insights that support sustainable management of the rapidly changing Central Arctic Ocean.
