"We have just set sail after much deliberation over the weather and just as many coast guard inspections.

At some point, you simply have to go for it, at least to give it a try and get things moving.

We’re off to a pretty good start in terms of sea conditions, but quite soon it’s going to turn into a mix of swing and rock ’n’ roll :)

It may be a quiet departure, but it is nevertheless a deeply emotional moment when you take a step back and think about the project as a whole and all the energy, determination, incredible amount of work, patience, and unwavering belief in making this adventure happen that it has taken to get us to this morning.

This is truly a collective achievement, so a huge THANK YOU to everyone for your commitment and dedication: to the crews who have taken turns, of course, and to the entire team, each person playing their part, making it possible for us to set course for Russia this morning.

Geographically, we more or less know where we’re going. As for the rest, we’ll see! In any case, we’ll do our very best to carry out the mission and share with you the mysteries of the polar night.
