Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
The focus of the research in SLE is the contribution of virus infection and B- and T-lymphocyte activating factor pathways. This will elucidate the contribution of genetic changes in the structure or expression of TNF family members BAFF/APRIL, INF and other cytokines/chemokines to the autoreactive B cell proliferation and autoantibody production in SLE.
“The predictive impact of renal DNase1 in human lupus nephritis” and “The role of kidney specific mesenchymal stems cells in the formation of tertiary lymphoid structures and the initiation of lupus nephritis.” are ongoing collaborative research project together with RAMP, IMB, UiT.
