My exchange semester in Tromsø has been - in many aspects - one of the most influential experiences of my life.

Travelling up this far north came with concerns and worries. What would the weather be like, would I be alright with the dark winters and never ending day? Thankfully, Tromsø is a city full of lovely people, various events organised by the city and UiT, surrounded by the most gorgeous landscape.

This city is more alive than the constant ice in the winter makes it seem and for being this isolated geographically, offers you with everything you need. Studying in itself was exciting, since the style of the courses and exams were much different from what I am used to at my home university.

Additionally, the internationals and locals residing here welcomed me with open arms, making this place a home in no time. With my passion for photography, Tromsø and the support of creative endeavour the city offers you, led me to beautiful hikes and pictures I still use as wallpapers on several devices.

I am very thankful for the people who have made my exchange semester possible and would definitely recommend anyone to visit, in one way or another.
